Investigative journalist Eddie Brock attempts a comeback following a scandal, but accidentally becomes the host of Venom, a violent, super powerful alien symbiote. Soon, he must rely on his newfound powers to protect the world from a shadowy organization looking for a symbiote of their own.
Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a fearless journalist who doesn’t know when to refrain and makes sacrifices such as losing his job. Is it his fault? The other side of Carlton Drake, a businessman who considers himself visionary despite imperfect morals. Not to be left behind, Brock joins Drake and when he encounters an alien reading mind that gives him extraordinary power, he seeks to explore Drake’s shadowy activity. Brock now has to choose how he will use his new abilities. If you doubt that Tom Hardy is best suited to tackle the dual personality of Venom and Eddie Brock, it disappears as soon as the interaction between the two personalities begins. Hardy handles the roles that need to be moved back and forth between characters, and here shows all of his previous experience. When Hardy is “occupied,” Brock gives a playful yet dark aura and works well to give the movie insane power.
